Today saw the official opening of the Teen Lounge in Wellington Regional Children’s Hospital. This specially designed room was funded by The Warehouse, Wellington region stores and will be used by patients aged 12 to 16 years. The room will have several functions, including providing a relaxing space for adolescents to mix with people of a similar age as well as being a room where clinicians can meet with young patients and their families to have confidential conversations. The Teen Lounge is equipped with age appropriate activities including various board games, computers, gaming console, library as well as a lounge area for hanging out.
