Help Hospi keep our sick kids warm this winter!

Wellington Regional Children’s Hospital sees a significant increase in the number of children who are admitted to hospital over the winter months, and many of them come in without a pair of pyjamas to wear. For many Wellington families in need, the simple act of having warm pyjamas and heating their home is more than they can afford.  A warm pair of pyjamas, to keep our children warm at night, can help prevent them from being admitted to hospital this winter.

Clinical Nurse Specialist at Wellington Regional Children’s Hospital, Charlotte Stanczuk said, “This appeal will make a significant difference this winter for the many children who come to hospital. We also have a significant number of sick children in our care who are seen at home by our community nurses, and we want to help them also. Thanks for helping keep sick kids warm this winter.”

 How Can You Help?

  1. Donate a pair of NEW flannelette pyjamas or thermals, size 1-16

Pyjamas can be dropped in to receptions at:  Wellington Hospital, Kenepuru Hospital, or Kapiti Health Centre.

Or they can be posted to: Wellington Hospitals Foundation, Wellington Hospital Private Bag 7902, Wellington 6242.

  1. Make a monetary donation online and Hospi will buy a pair on your behalf!

A huge thanks to National Storage Wellington for supporting our appeal by donating boxes to sort and store pyjamas!

So that all our kids are safe as well as warm, please make sure that all pyjamas meet NZ product safety standards and carry the fire safety certification.  Due to the risk of infection, only new pyjamas can be accepted.
