Earlier this year we were thrilled to be involved with Wellington Rotary’s Singers to Listen For benefit concert, in support of the new Children’s Hospital. Today, thanks to our fantastic Simulation Suite team, the recipients of the Surgeon for a Morning prize were treated to a fascinating and unique hands-on theatre experience. Using the suite’s hi-tech blinking and breathing patient mannequins, the group experienced a flight in the Air Ambulance simulator, learnt how to anaesthetise and incubate their patient, performed an emergency appendectomy and mastered their suturing! It was a fantastic and rare treat to see behind the scenes of an operating theatre.
