For 15 years Linda has been a familiar and comforting presence in the wards at Kenepuru Hospital. As a dedicated volunteer she visits patients twice a week, offering companionship, a listening ear and warm smile to those in need of support.
Kenepuru Volunteer Manager, Amanda Taii, shared her appreciation for Linda’s incredible service saying, “I love her enthusiasm and the constant joy she brings to the role. She ends every shift with immense gratitude and cares so deeply for the patients she visits.”
Linda, who recently celebrated her 75th birthday, told us, “I just love it. Do what you love and do it with all your heart!”
Ward volunteers like Linda play an invaluable role in the hospital, brightening patients’ days with friendly conversation, offering reassurance and even providing small but meaningful gestures like fetching a newspaper or simply holding a hand. Their kindness and presence make a real difference.
