It was wonderful to welcome the talented Paul Beavis, local author and children’s book illustrator, to Te Wao Nui Children’s Hospital again last week. Parents with young children will instantly recognise his lively style from books such as Nee Naw The Little Fire Engine series, Mrs Mo’s Monster, and Ring Ting Tui.
It was a joy to see how he captivated the children’s attention, bringing his colourful characters to life right before their eyes.
For any child, swapping a busy carefree childhood for time in hospital can be pretty scary and overwhelming. The Foundation is delighted to facilitate visits like this that bring a touch of joy and wonder and significantly enhance a child’s hospital experience.
