Last night, we gathered with our community in the Hutt Valley to celebrate what can happen when we come together to support great healthcare.
It was an evening full of connections and kōrero to celebrate the incredible generosity of Sir Mark Dunajtschik, Dame Dorothy Spotswood and our wider Foundation community who are helping make Hutt Hospitals new Sir Mark Dunajtschik Mental Health Centre a reality.
This incredible new centre scheduled to open next year is part of a much broader story of care across at Hutt Hospital and our wider Wellington region. As well as hearing from Sir Mark Dunajtschik, it was a great opportunity to hear from Health NZ CCHV staff and clinical leads who work in mental health, the Burns and Plastics Unit, as well as Women’s and Children’s Health. Special thanks to our speakers Paul Oxnam, Angela Gillman, Emma Joines and André Cromhout, who’s stories helped bring to life the breadth of care happening across Hutt Hospital, the importance of our partnership, and the many ways that our community helps to make a real difference for our hospitals, staff, patients, whānau in our region.
It was a moving evening and a powerful reminder that when we are here for each other, we can achieve exceptional things for healthcare in our community.
A huge thank you to everyone who joined us at Boulcott’s Farm Heritage Golf Club, from local business and community leaders, supporters, volunteers and Health NZ staff. You are a part of the conversation that will help shape a healthier future for our region.
