On Thursday March 3rd, Rimutaka Prison staff presented a cheque for $3,800 to Wellington Hospitals Foundation,
official charity of Wellington Children’s Hospital.
Donating their earnings to charity was the aim of a team of 30, mainly Corrections staff who managed the front of stage security at the recent ACDC concerts at Westpac Stadium. From the outset the team wanted their earnings to go to charity, and the Wellington Children’s Hospital was chosen as the recipient.
Corrections staff who managed the front of stage security put their people skills and team skills to good use, keeping an eye out for the safety and wellbeing of concert goers. Staff had Corrections’ permission to work at the concert.
The Foundation extends our thanks to all involved- it was a really awesome thing to do
