Wellington Hospitals Foundation recently presented Dr John Tait with a cheque for $1million.
The Foundation raised the funds to enable the DHB to purchase a Second MRI Scanner.
Foundation Chair Bill Day said that the public support of this appeal was outstanding and funds were raised in a very short time. “I believe the call to the public for a second MRI Scanner resonated well with them and their support was brilliant”
James Entwistle, Head of Radiology services, said that the DHB now has two brand new MRI scanners and our facilities are the very best in New Zealand.
“We will be able to reduce MRI waiting times from 6 months to 4/5 weeks. The two scanners also provide for faster, high quality imaging for all patients. We are so grateful to the Foundation for leading this support of our hospital. Going online with two brand new MRI scanners ends 2016 on a great note for many patients and our staff.”
Debbie Chin CEO, expressed her gratitude to the Foundation and the community for their wonderful commitment and support.
