It is a sad day today as we face this uncertain Covid19 crisis. Trustees, staff and I have had to suspend our Hospital Volunteer Service and our Hospital Shop services. 450 volunteers between Wellington and Kenepuru have been asked to stay home due to CoronaVirus. Our Knitters, Sewers and Quilters have been asked to continue to knit, sew and quilt but to store them at home until this crisis passes. They will be needed.

I want to pay a special tribute to all our hospital staff who are working so hard. Senior management and doctors and nurses are so committed to working in your interests. Think of them as you stay in self isolation and practice self-distancing, knowing they are at risk but taking every precaution.

Our Hospital Foundation staff are now working remotely and are available to continue the good work they do. If you would like to support our hospital teams across all areas you can still make a donation at www.whf.org.nz/donate

It is a challenging time but together we can win through.  Please stay safe and look after yourself and your loved ones first then others who need help.

With kindest best wishes from the team at Wellington Hospitals Foundation.
