World Marudao Karate is one of the Foundation’s longstanding charity partners. Last week we were thrilled to be presented with $18,000 following the club’s Annual Quiz Night fundraising event, bringing the total amount the club has raised and donated to an extraordinary $107,000. This year, proceeds will be put towards much needed EEG monitoring equipment for Wellington Hospital’s Paediatric Neurology service, which will help in the diagnosis of brain disorders in children and young people.
Conditions seen by the paediatric neurologist team vary considerably from migraines and epilepsy to more complex and rare conditions such as metabolic diseases or neurodegenerative disorders. Grateful thanks to the club’s hardworking teams who have spent many hours working in support of our hospital’s Child Health programmes.
