On behalf of Wellington Hospitals Foundation trustees and staff, our warmest congratulations to Chair Bill Day, who has won the Dominion Post Wellingtonian of the Year, in the category of Community Service!
Bill is passionate about Wellington. He has worked with our community to raise more than $160 million in essential projects for our hospitals, including the new regional children’s hospital with friends and benefactors Sir Mark Dunajtschik and Dorothy Spotswood.
He has also had a 40 year association with Life Flight Trust, is a former Wellington Free Ambulance Board member, a dedicated Rotarian and a keen outdoorsman and DoC volunteer. This Welly Award is a much deserved acknowledgement of Bill’s prodigious energy and dedication to the Wellington community!
