Sir Mark received his knighthood for contributions to the Wellington community, including his $53 Million donation to build the newly-opened Wellington children’s hospital, Te Wao Nui. Without Mark and Dorothy Spotswood’s incredible generosity a new children’s hospital would have been many years away
