Chloe began as an ED volunteer at Wellington Regional Hospital in late 2022, and joined after a friend had a positive volunteering experience with the hospital. The ED can be a fast paced, dynamic and often challenging environment but Chloe is a reassuring and cheerful presence for people who unexpectedly find themselves in hospital.
Chloe told us that the ED can also be very inspiring. “The best part of being an ED volunteer is meeting all the patients and I have met such inspiring, beautiful and kind people and everyone has a story. I enjoy being in a role that is all about being able to share love and joy with people who are in need of some comfort during a difficult time.”
Not only does Chloe provide volunteer support and comfort to patients and their whānau, but our ED volunteers also provide valuable assistance to our hospital’s busy medical and orderly staff.
Thank you Chloe, and all of our dedicated volunteers. We are so fortunate to have a team of more than 400 volunteers, who generously choose to gift their time and talents to help our hospitals in many different ways each week. We couldn’t do it without you! If you are interested in becoming a hospital volunteer please visit HERE.
