Buddle Findlay Child Health Foundation have been a valuable long-standing partner of Wellington Hospitals Foundation.  In an exciting new collaboration, we recently announced a three-year charity partnership agreement that allows us to work together to enhance the services provided by Te Wao Nui Child Health Service.  As one of our major supporters, this partnership has been wonderful and shows the commitment both parties have to improve the experience for children who require hospital care.

We were delighted to have staff from Buddle Findlay visit and view the new OPMI Pico microscope for the Paediatric Ear, Nose & Throat (ENT) Service in Te Wao Nui that was purchased under year one of the agreement.  The impact of this equipment has been huge and the paediatric Otolaryngologists are extremely grateful for this state of the art technology.

“The microscope is a critical piece of equipment that we use frequently in our outpatient clinic. We use it to examine in detail the ear and eardrum, which allows us to diagnose different conditions, as well as plan and administer treatment. Without this we would not be able to run our clinic. We are enormously grateful to have it which has enabled us to run dedicated paediatric ENT clinics in our new children’s hospital.” – Dr Katherine Baguley, Otolaryngologist and ENT Surgeon
