A huge shout out and thanks to the incredible Wellington District Police whānau. This morning the team delivered more than 500 pairs of cosy new PJs to Te Wao Nui, helping ensure our youngest patients stay warm and comfortable this winter.
PJs and other winter items were collected from officers and staff across the region including, Police National Headquarters, Porirua and Kapiti Stations, Kapiti Digital Centre, Wellington Central Station, Rugby House (Firearms Registry) and the Dive Squad.
Wellington District Police have been generous supporters of the children’s hospital for many years, delivering winter PJs and Christmas goodies, with more than 5,000 PJs delivered in that time.
Tamarki and staff also enjoyed a quick visit from some of the team, including Nia the police dog who has a special nose for cash, cannabis, firearms ….. and ham sandwiches!
Thank you Wellington District Police, for your fantastic mahi and support!
