Say hello to gorgeous baby Taaviri – this sweet snap melted hearts around the office today! His proud parents, Eleanor and Haddon, wanted to thank the “knitting fairy godmothers and godfathers of Wellington” for the beautiful hand knitted clothes and blanket they received after he was born.

“I was given a little bundle of the most BEAUTIFUL hand-knitted clothes and a blanket when I was visiting the community midwives at Kenepuru Hospital, and they were the first outfit we put our baby boy in when he arrived at Wellington Hospital two weeks ago. It was honestly the most wonderful gift to receive. Not only is everything so completely gorgeous, and easy to put on, and snuggly! but it feels really special knowing there is someone out there who is generous enough to make clothes for a baby they don’t even know.

I love thinking of this, in the grey hours in the middle of the night when tugging on the little singlet or fishing tiny fingers through the arms of the cardigan 🙂 So thank you, to yourselves and to the magical knitters out there. You’ve made this very special time in our lives even more special.”

To all our talented volunteer knitters – thank you. What a wonderful reminder of the joy and generosity that surrounds our hospitals! And to Eleanor, Haddon and wee Taaviri – our very best wishes to you all at this incredibly special time.
