Royal New Zealand Ballet dancers made a special and very sweet visit to Te Wao Nui Children’s Hospital today, ahead of their highly anticipated return season of Hansel and Gretel, from 26 October – 9 December.

Dancers Ana Gallardo Lobaina, Shae Berney, Kirby Selchow and Shaun James Kelly brought a touch of magic and enchantment to the hospital, creating lovely memories for our young patients, and momentarily transporting them from their hospital stay. It was wonderful to watch these incredibly talented performers share dance moves and connect with our tamariki and rangatahi.

Every year there are around 87,000 visits to the children’s hospital from children and young people across our region and it’s a privilege to be able to facilitate visits like this to Te Wao Nui. This visit was also an extra-special prelude to our upcoming Annual Street Appeal in support of the children’s hospital. Look out for our collectors on Saturday September 30th, or donate HERE today.
