Thanks to our community’s generous support, we’ve been able to fund two Airvo III Junior Units for use by Wellington Regional Hospital’s Emergency Department and Intensive Care Unit.
This critical piece of medical equipment is a game-changer for babies and children. The units provide essential respiratory support to paediatric patients, preventing breathing disruptions or apnoea’s (those scary moments when breathing stops).
We have also funded this equipment for Te Wao Nui, which means that babies and children can stay on the same tubing throughout each stage of their hospital journey, this not only enhances their safety by providing continued breathing support during transfer, but also significantly reduces stress during their hospital stay.
