Thanks to community funding, the Foundation has been able to enhance the “Quiet Wait Room” for the Child Development Service at Te Wao Nui Children’s Hospital. This space is a controlled environment where children can feel more secure and less overwhelmed by the hustle and bustle of a typical hospital setting.
Funding has allowed us to provide wall toys, tree and flower blackboards, and a variety of other engaging playthings, which have brightened the area and provided young patients with stimulating activities during their wait for appointments.
Jo Mills, CDS Physiotherapist, told us that the new equipment is a big hit with their young patients. By creating a welcoming and friendly atmosphere, the quiet wait room improves the overall experience for both children and their families, making hospital visits more pleasant and less stressful.
