Our grateful thanks to Buddle Findlay who dropped in today with a HUGE collection of toys and resources to support the work of our two play specialists. Buddle Findlay are generous and long-time supporters of Wellington Regional Children’s Hospital not only gifting toys and pyjamas, but also awarding grant funding from their Child Health Foundation as well as organising an annual Christmas party for the children.
Today with the kind help of The Warehouse Petone, they have donated some very specific toys and activities to the team. In particular there are many older teens who often spend long periods in hospital and Buddle Findlay have provided a collection of much needed age appropriate resources for this group including nail polish, water colour sets, friendship bracelet kits, books and games. Other items for some of our younger patients included a selection of battery operated bubble blowers. These have become essential during COVID as wearing a mask means it’s impossible to blow bubbles to distract children during painful or scary medical procedures. Special thanks to Chris for organising this fantastic annual donation.
