Thanks to our generous donors, the Foundation was very pleased to be able to fund 5 TENS machines, 30 large TENS electrode pads and 7 portable radios for Wellington Regional Hospital’s Palliative Care Service.

Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS) machines are sometimes used in palliative care to help manage pain and improve the overall well-being of individuals with serious illnesses.

The machines are designed to deliver mild electrical impulses through electrodes placed on the skin, which can help reduce pain by interfering with the transmission of pain signals to the brain. This can be particularly useful for individuals experiencing chronic pain.

These items will make a significant difference for patients, greatly enhancing their comfort and quality of life.
