Materials: 1-2 balls of 4ply 100% wool
Needles: 3.25mm
TIPS
- This pattern can be knitted using 3.75mm needles to give a slightly larger size
- Smaller amounts of wool can be used up by knitting stripes
- If your cast off is too tight, go up to a 3.75mm or 4mm needle depending on what
size you have knitted the body in
FRONT
Cast on 57 stitches
1st row: K3, P3 to end finishing with K3
2nd row: P3, K3 to end finishing with P3
Repeat these two rows until work measures 18cm from 1st row.
Continue making bodice by casting on 5 stitches at beginning of next 2 rows, 67 sts.
KNIT 22 rows of garter stitch.
Next row: K21 sts and cast off 25 loosely, K21 sts.
Next: Work 20 rows garter stitch on remaining 21 sts, cast off loosely.
Rejoin yarn to other shoulder and work to correspond.
BACK
Work as for front
NECK BAND (optional)
Join right shoulder seam.
With right side facing, pick up and K9 sts down left neck edge, 25 sts across front, 20 across
up right neck edge, 25 sts across back and 10 sts up left neck edge 90 sts.
Knit 5 rows in garter stitch.
Cast off loosely
To make up
Using a flat seam, join left shoulder and side seams.
