For almost a decade, NZ Police have been supporting sick children in our hospitals through Jammies for June. This year’s pyjama drop off was no exception, with hundreds of pairs generously donated by police teams and communities across the region.

A huge thank you to Wellington Central Police & Central Communications, Royal NZ Police College, Police National Headquarters, the National Dive Squad, Firearms Registry, Child Protection (Petone), Kapiti and the Kapiti Digital Centre, the Evidence Based Policing and Wellness Team, as well as the Hutt, Petone and Wairarapa Police teams.

For many involved, this cause is deeply meaningful. CEO of Seaview Marina, where the Dive Squad is based, Tim Lidgard shared that his daughter has spent significant time in hospital, an experience that continues to shape his connection to the cause. That personal perspective has helped inspire residents in the marina to also rally behind Jammies for June and support other families facing similar journeys.

A special thank you to Dan for coordinating the collection, alongside Lisa, Shaneel, Amy, Phil, Tim, James and Bruce, who joined us for the drop off alongside members of our Child Health team.

Together, these contributions help ensure children in hospital receive warmth, comfort, and care during the colder months.
