How does your regular gift make a difference?
We don’t all have a spare $500, but for the cost of a coffee from as little as $5 a week, your regular gift alongside others make a big difference for healthcare in our region. At scale, this creates a reliable, flexible and steady source of funding that enables us to plan with confidence and respond to urgent and important needs across our hospitals.
Because of this flexibility, it enables us to target support where it’s needed most, and the needs of our hospitals are always changing. Whether it’s helping to support more comfortable spaces for children and families in places like maternity or the neonatal intensive care unit, specialist equipment for the regional child development service, to emergency clothing and care packs, to care and comfort items for patients going through cancer treatment or the mental health service – your regular gift makes a difference in many ways.
Many of our regular givers just want to do something to give back and chip in where they can. Sometimes it’s because they’ve received great hospital care themselves or for someone they care about, and regular giving is an easy way to pay it forward.

Last year my husband and I chose to start contributing to the Wellington Hospitals Foundation - knowing it would help people without thinking of the practicalities of what that would mean. This week I found myself making an emergency dash to hospital. The care pack of toothbrush, toothpaste and shampoo made a huge difference - before my family had time to bring in other stuff. So I just wanted to say thanks very much, and I’m delighted to know my donations will help others too. – Vicki
