World Marudao Karate dojo members deliver Christmas gifts to the children's hospital.

World Marudào Karate Organisation's much anticipated annual Quiz Night is more than just a great night out.  Raising over $142,000, it’s a powerhouse fundraiser in support of Wellington’s public hospitals.

Their fundraising helped purchase Premature Anne, a hi-tech neonatal simulator used by NICU teams to practise critical interventions like resuscitation and intubation. “This is a game-changer,” says Neonatologist Dr Maria Saito-Benz. “Anne breathes, has a heartbeat, and responds to treatment just like a real baby - giving our teams the chance to refine the lifesaving care they deliver every day.”

The dojo has also funded specialised Comfortline2 chairs for patients undergoing chemotherapy and transfusions, making long cancer treatments much more comfortable.

From Christmas toy drives for the children’s hospital, to cutting edge medical support, World Marudào Karate Organisation continues to show the incredible impact a passionate community can have. We're grateful for their ongoing support and commitment to making our hospitals even better.
