It’s no surprise that our healthcare system is under pressure, or to hear that government funding only stretches so far. With your help, we can support world-class training and education opportunities that empower teams to deliver the best possible care for patients and families when they need it most.
World-class simulation training and advanced education.
With your help, we’ve been able to fund a wide range of innovative education and training opportunities that empower teams to provide safer, smarter, and more responsive care. This includes things like the Air Ambulance training simulator – a world-first that supports training in an incredibly realistic aircraft environment where nurses and doctors must insert IV lines, monitor patients and keep them stable, often in high-pressure, unpredictable and turbulent situations. We've been able to fund a wide range of anatomical and medical models, as well as hi-tech simulation medical manikins that have been used to support training for thousands of staff from across the Wellington region and beyond. In addition to specialised training equipment, we’ve also been able to fund a wide variety of important education and training days for various departments in our public hospitals across the region.
Annual awards, staff gratitude, and simple ways to say thank you.
One of the things that flexible and untagged funding from our community can assist with is helping to acknowledge and support the ongoing excellence of our hospital and healthcare professionals. This has enabled us to sponsor things like the annual “ACE Awards”, which help to recognise and celebrate outstanding examples of leadership and care in action. Sometimes it's the simple things like putting on a morning tea to say thank you, or supporting staff to engage in extra-curricular activities that boost morale and strengthen teams. Though seemingly small, these practical acts of generosity and kindness go a long way supporting our incredible hospital staff to care for our community every single day.
